a day of travel

As we we woke up from our 2nd ferry in a week, I wondered where the heck I was. After considering several other questions such as, who am I, what am I meant to be doing, etc. and after realising how old I was, one clear thought popped into my head. It solved everything. That thought ... was breakfast.

Arriving in the port of Bari (south east of Italy) we had to catch the train to Bologna, a five hour journey. The train company we used was Trenitalia. Trenitalia runs the fast trains and the slow trains are run by smaller regional companies. Trenitalia rocks. Their trains are called Freccias (or arrows) are 100,000 times better then the regionals.

There are 3 types of freccia's

  1. frecciarossa (red arrow)
  2. frecciargentino (silver arrow)
  3. frecciabianca (white arrow)
we caught 2 freccia's today - silver and white.

We also traveled first class, it was definitely worth it.

  1. the seats are a lot more comfortable
  2. the chairs are equipped with lights for reading
  3. you have heaps more room to spread out.
  4. It only cost another 20€

Those are just some of the key points, of these amazingly luxurious chairs.

After 5 hours on a train i think we were all ready to quit, but we still had 1hour to wait before one more 1 hour train and an hour long cab ride to go.

Finally at 6 o clock we arrived at our camp ground.

Our camp is called Villa Blu and our first 3 hours there could be described as the song "Camp Granada"
